Summer 2012 Whitehouse Internship Program: Young leaders are being sought for the summer Whitehouse Internship Program. Its mission is to make the "People’s House" accessible to future leaders from around the nation and cultivate and prepare those devoted to public service for future leadership opportunities. For application and information visit www.whitehouse.gov/internships. Deadline to apply is Jan. 22.
Prodigal Worship Conference registration open: “Be the Light: Missional, Relational and Incarnational” is the theme of Prodigal Worship, April 21. Explore worship that will equip clergy and church leaders to reach out to the unchurched and revitalize worship through diversity. Leonard Sweet and Rudy Rasmus will be the keynote speakers. Lecto Divina is but one of many workshops offered. Bring three people from your church and register the fourth person for free. The first 25 people to register will get a free book from Rudy Rasmus or Leonard Sweet, the next 200 people to register will get a 10% discount on one Cokesbury product. Register today for only $79. Registration open for ROCK 2012: ROCK retreat for youth in 6th to 12th grades will be held at the Ocean City Convention Center Jan. 20-22. More Than Conquerors is the theme for ROCK 2012, based on Romans 8:37. Stephen Fitzhugh, former NFL player and national spokesperson for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is the guest speaker. Praise and worship music will be by Nicole C. Mullen, award winning song writer for “Redeemer;” and The Uprising Youth from Hebron, Md. In addition to breakout sessions on Sunday, a 200-youth mass choir will sing.
